I think Meerkats are one of the cutest animal on the planet. I wish I could have one as a pet. This is adorable with the three of them together, very nice composition and lighting on this image. Love it!!!

Animal Planet had a series about these very social creatures I loved to watch it. The composition is very good and I like the natural tones of the color. The one sitting up is taking its turn as a sentry for the others. Food gathering and babysitting is a shared responsibility among the females in the group. I also like the close crop of the photograph. Only one female is the leader, however.

My first thought when I viewed this photo is...what friendly looking animals these are, as the one standing up looks like he's smiling. Excellent clarity rendering detail and texture of their coats. Good color and lighting with great initial impact. Well done. ~Alveria

I just love these little creatures, they look so interested in life under a watchful eye and are always on guard when they sense danger is near. Much like families who watch over each other, nature sure has that about them too....:)

Mom seems proud of her children and it seems as if she is knows that the family is photographed. The young ones don't care because they are busy with exploring their world. I read its at the zoo, but it could be anywhere. It looks all wonderful natural. The clarity of the photo is as impressive as the excellent capture of detail and the realistic colors. The photo is well balanced and framed. The DOF is perfect. Best luck for the contest.
