A natural phenomenon with amazing beauty. Your time of day with sun and shadows brings an almost chidrens story to the picture with fairytale castle shaped formation. Trees being tall themselves give us a guide to height of hoodoos. Interesting area worth a visit.

What places this photo at the top for me is the vignette, its shape and and role as director of the view for us. It forces the eye quickly to the key spires which have the limelight - ring center. They are lit beautifully, sand stone layers are in great focus throughout. I have been close to Bryce but never in. Badlands, yes, and unearthly.

Fred,
A brilliant picture of the Hoodoos in Bryce Canyon bathed in the morning light making them appear translucent. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Thank you for that information which I never knew.

The vignette is too dark and the hoodoos in dead center are over blown.

But it is interesting to see and to learn from your posts.

a glorious shot of this awesome location. Capturing the chiaroscuro effect perfectly as the eye is drawn to the central light almost like a spiral effect. Love the structure of the whole piece
