Awesome work Cleo, as always! This is very well detailed and reminds me of moth/butterflies I used to catch as a kid in California. Since this is from SE USA it is probably related to the ones I saw. Good job!

Cleo, I just love the way you paint! The first impression I got when I saw this was that it was a photo. The detail is incredible. Love the angle of your butterfly and the soft background. Every thing comes together to make this a really lovely painting! Nicely Done! :o) Nancy

Wow! This is incredible , it's so very impressive to view, the details in this skipper are so realistic , the colors , tones and variations of tone are amazing, you are so amazingly talented to be able to create such realism with digital art! It's amazing too the way this little skipper lifts up off the green leave! Very well created, arranged and presented! I feel fortunate for the opportunity to review!

I find your talent amazing with a computer generated composition. I wonder if the blending and layering of colors work the same by adjusting opacity or some sort of digital setting. Amazing.... As I have said in the past...I would love to watch your do this! Your composition is so balanced in proportion, colors, back ground and light and shadows...the same as what a photographer achieves...when successful. I love the look of the tiny filaments of hair on this moth. And the rich browns and golds are beautiful. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you very much for your through and encouraging comments and generous rating. No, blending and layering does not work the same by adjusting opacity. Photo and paint programs do not work the same at all. I mix she colors similar to real oil paints with a brush, than I save my new color, so I can use it when I need it. I Than I take a fine brush a paint one hair beside the other. When the row of hairs is finished I go back to the beginning of the row and then paint the next hairs covering the hairs of the first row with the new ones. I change the colors frequently to get the different shades. It's hard to explain. I wished I could show you. :o)

Amazing, Cleo. He looks so real. Superb detail on this little guy AND the plant he's standing on. Lots of very fine/minute detail throughout. Beautiful job, my friend, and well worth a sixer!! It seems like one could reach out and let him climb on your finger. :))

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments and rating! These little guys are usually very shy an flee any shadow, but is you can go close to them with out that your shadow touch them, the might climb on your finger. :o)

A beautiful painting of this month. Thought I would never say it but......
Well done on the shading of it perched on a flower. The green leaf is detailed too.
