Wonderful angle captured here of the main compostion. The detail comes through nicely with the lighting. Background works well to make the compostion pop. Great job

A great looking bird and a beautiful shot. I like the colors in the background as well as the grouse. The composition is very good and the detail in the face is superb.

Pat,
A beautiful picture of the Spruce Grouse Hen perched in the Conifer with the sun's golden rays lighting up the background & catching the sparkle in it's eye, & highlighting it's plumage. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera technique & sharp focus.

She's a bright-eyed little thing. Focus on bird is nice. Your foreground fir branches are a little soft. Like the blurred background and color contrast as it really shows her off. Our ground birds are decimated by too many coyotes and wolves.

Thanks so much Patti! I appreciate your review! These are hunted a lot, not by me, but a lot of people hunt and eat these birds, they are not very good about hiding either.

Our time again is also turned white in winter but if I remember correctly they have red over their eyes like a little red eyebrows other than that they are white. I enjoy your photography very much

And congrats on being reviewer of the month

Awe, thank you ! 😀😀

Yes, the male Ptarmigan has red eyebrows, they stay even when he changes to his winter plumage, it?s really pretty to see!

What an interesting look this creature has,Pat!
At first glance it reminded me of how I imagined a prehistoric Psittacosaurus might have looked wandering around in the brush millions of years ago! : )
It's a fine looking picture though,my friend!
'Good Show'!
