'Intimidation' is the purpose of the raptor's expression,my friend!
It's an evolutionary adaptation that goes back many millions of years-right to this bird's distant Dinosaurian ancestors!
That's a fine looking picture and I'm enjoying it very much!

You have pictured this beautiful Eagle so well, and especially the sharp shiny eye is well captured. Also I like the way the bird is turning its head, and mostly because that you got such a good look at its majestic profile. The Eagle is also standing out really well from the slightly softened background.
Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in the feathers of the bird, and the exposure is perfect.
I also like the way you have cropped the photo and the placement of the bird off to the right. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo Pat, and with an excellent DOF.

you know to me the eagles always have "im mad at you " look. lol. nice capture. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this eagle giving you the evil eye is great. the capture of the light is great. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

This was an outstanding opportunity to capture Alaska at it best. What a magnificent specimen. I can see why you could be a bit intimidated. That is one stern look. With that ability to swivel his neck, he doesn't miss much. His position in the frame and the lighting give us great detail and a wonderful POV. This could be on the cover of an Alaskan Outdoors magazine.
