Pat.. The last time I saw a photo of this high quality was back in high school. It was at the top of an article written in Scientific American. The article went on to describe all the aerodynamic reasons why this insect cannot fly.
I think mother nature just don't care about no aerodynamics!
I can't say anything you don't already know about this incredible, magnificent, eye popping, perfect photograph except - Your good... Bob

Wow! Thank you so much Bob! There were so many bees, it was very bright and sunny, I bumped up the shutter to 1/3200 and iso to 200 With F 8 . I photographed a lot of bees last summer and never got stung, then one afternoon, I stepped off my front porch onto my driveway and out of nowhere a bee flew right up and stung me in the neck, thankfully I am not allergic.

Pat, very nice stop action! Don't you love when you can actually stop it like that?
I actually just had a small swarm in my bathroom!! I have no clue where they came from and they have not returned..
Just a wonderful shot!

It's interesting to hear that the photo was taken while photographing flowers, and that it was taken for fun by increasing the shutter speed. This suggests that the photo was taken in a moment of spontaneity and experimentation, which could add a sense of playfulness and creativity to the image.
The fact that the bee is the only element in the image creates a sense of focus and clarity, drawing the viewer's attention directly to the subject.
The sharpness, detail and texture is highlighting the intricate patterns and structures of the bee's wings and body.

Pat,
A fantastic stop action picture of the Honeybee in flight, the light sparkling in her eyes, while highlighting her hairy thorax, her abdomen, legs & gossamer wings as she stands out from her blurred green background. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

The bee is pretty with its yellows and blacks. The wing is nice and your animation is fine work. The background is nice, casting a slight green on the bee in flight. Also, Congratulations on your win for this fine work. Your profile says, amateur photographer. No way; you capture beauty like a professional.

Pat...Remarkable stop action capture of this Bee in Macro. Every detail and colour of the Bee is clear and focussed. (Very hard to do). I love the off centre image with the blurred green background. Thanks for sharing Pat.

Hmm! I don't remember seeing all that many bees around here last Summer,Pat, ( there's been much talk about a regional 'Extinction Event' taking place among certain breeds of those 'Social Insects'! )
So I'm really enjoying looking at your fine looking finely photographed picture of this handsome specimen as she flies along!
