Great catch and beautiful picture. I believe I have also seen another picture you posted of the same sweet birds. I love this. I love the layers of focus between the birds, close leaves and the distance leaves. Great contrast, lighting and focus. LOVE IT!

This is a very nicely composed photograph. I like it much more than the one you posted previously. Notice how all of the imagery seems to point towards the birds. This is referred to as invisible line and it is an important and often under-appreciated element in great art. What it does is capture the eye and draw it into your piece, which creates interest. I also like the bright colors. The green and yellow of the leaves makes what would otherwise be a fairly washed out and dull picture and gives it some pizzazz. Your picture offers a good range of tones. There are some bright spots of white in the background and some darker tones in the immediate foreground, which creates a good amount of contrast. Not great mind you, I would have liked to have seen a small increase in the amount of contrast associated with the birds themselves. It would have made the piece just a little more dynamic.
Overall you have a great shot here, great execution. Very nice work sir.

This photo is amazing. I love everything about it. lighting is good, very sharp, great colors and composition. maybe you should try to stay a little further away next time so you won't scare them out of the nest but besides that its a great shot.

Hi Willie, this is quite superb. Great lighting made the most of textures and a very good exposure did the rest. I do hope they returned to the same nest? Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so very much! They are gone but not forgotten. They will fly to central and south America for the winter and will return to the same area next year and hopefully will build their own nest in the same tree! I will be watching and hoping for another opertunity!

The detail and great focus show you those tiny details of the birds that a further away shot would simply have missed. The intricate nest, and the colors in it are fabulous, and the photo is balanced nicely with the branch and mottled background colors. A great job, well done.

How lucky you were to spot a hummingbird nest and be able to get near enough to take pictures! I am VERY envious!
