Wow, this is a spectacular capture! The details of the feathers, the eye and the beak are exceptional. Very impressive shot. I think the female cardinal is such a beautiful bird. Her colors are some of my favorite in nature. Everything works so well for this close up, with you at the helm, orchestrating this excellence!

This is a great initial impact image of the bird. You produce great bird images. Very vibrant red beak. I like the texture and colors of the feathers. Good close crop. Very good clarity. Well done. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest.

Willie! This is awesome! I am so amazed by the detail you have captured with your camera. It really is amazing when you stop to think about how small the actual bird is and then look at the minute detail within each feather. Your focus is second to none! Crisp is an understatement! The vibrant red beak certainly grabs the viewer's attention to get us started on the wonderful things in your photo and your capture of the eye really lets us know she's watching us! I can't make any suggestions with this photo that would even begin to improve it...I think artistically your choices to crop were well thought out- her beak fits equally into the bottom left hand corner spacing and acts like an imaginary arrow to show us the way to the rest of your photo. Great work, thank you for sharing! Crystal

A gorgeous close up showing wonderful details most of us do not get to see. Love the color variations of the female cardinal.
