Well what ever you did it looks good. I can only mark what I see since everything else is just a foreign language to me. This is an interesting and bright image. I can see the princess in the image, but other than a lot of sparkles, not much else. Roy :0)

Thank you very much. The lots of sparkles are mythological the stars she resides between since Athena send her there. Scientifically they are The Great Galaxy of Andromeda the closest nebula to the milky way. My picture is a interpretation of the Greek mythology.

I had to look very hard to find the girl. At first glance I see a horse's face, the hair area of the girl looking like a white stripe on the front of the face. Good work, but I think this idea is great. I'd like to see the girl stand out more.

Thank you very much. It may would be fine to have her stand out more, but she hiding in the star cluster. Some mixed media seem to have an issue on this site. This picture dos not comes out the same as the original. It is very dull in light and color. I can't find out why. I tried to lighten it up and I tried to increase the exposure, intending to post a modified image. But both modifications turned out worse than this one in the upload. So I guess I have to live with it.

This is really very nice. The colors are great - nice blend and the clarity very good. Great subject matter as well. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.

This is a very creative and original image. Your notes about Andromeda are also very interesting. My only comment is that I wish the stars on the right had been a bit more spread to cover the negative space. You could have cloned in bits and pieces from the existing ones, and then it would not have been so obvious that the stars are the same on each side either. Still it was a very clever idea to use the reflections from the surface of the ocean.

Your friend is a perfect Andromeda with the shiny hair. It could easily go for moon beams or star beams. She is actually quite well defined amongst all the stars. I like the pose with the lifted hand. The black back drop is of course a perfect choice.

I also think the placement of Andromeda off to the left works really well. I think you have created a beautiful image and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your review, your wishes and your input highly. I understand your critique, but I left the right dark in purpose. The left side is supposed to signify the closeness to the Milky Way, while the dark right with just one star in the darkness signifies the dark cold room of space between to the farther away galaxies. That is maybe a wrong kind of symbolism to be understand. I originally had in mind to put the Andromeda constellation [The Great Galaxy of Andromeda] into the picture, but the scientific image just dos not go along well with the fantasy. So I decided it to take some of my [prepared] stars and contradict them with their mirror. I could have taken some other stars from my collection, but somehow liked the mirror effect. Maybe a bad idea. It is not an exact mirror either. The only really completely identical feature is the kind of frame outside the cluster. You have to look very close to realize the differences, because I didn't want them to be realized. It is a trick I used before. It seems if the significant parts of a supposedly mirror image are the same, the human eye and/or mind take it as identical mirror.

Thank you very much for the explanation. Of course it is difficult for a reviewer to sense all this before it is explained. I was thinking that the negative space on the right side needed some more to balance the image better, but I have no problems understanding what you mean.

    Thank you for understanding :-)
I am still thinking about your input. I think it is not against the rule to make an other image with the same theme.
reply by avmurray on 09-Jul-2012
I can't see any reason at all why you should not be allowed to do make another image,

The rules say you can't post the same picture twice even if it is heavily changed, but I hope it would count as an new immage even if I use the same girl. I believe she is perfect for the part of Andromeda.

Both the picture and the story line are really well done. When looking at it, one has the feeling that the stars are drifting down, even though one knows they are static.
