You have created an excellent portrait art composition that pays powerful artistic tribute to the legendary, very gifted singer/musician- Mr. BB King. Your brilliant artistry has perfectly captured Mr. Kings's larger than life commanding rule over the musical sounds of the 'Blues'. My favorite song of BB King's is 'The Thrill Is Gone. Thank you also for providing the very interesting to read information about BB King.

Awesome drawing Mark and a wonderful tribute of one of the real greats of the Blues. We say him some 45 years ago, when we were all much younger, lol and I never forgot the quality and the tenor of his voice and probably based all my opinions of Blues singers based on him:)

This work is outstanding and I am delighted you 'dusted it off' and shared with us once again :)

We will all miss him. He was a great musician and you are a wonderful artist who has portrayed him very well. I like the colorful clothing that seems to suit him beautifully. The composition is well planned. The facial expression is priceless. I like the crown you included in his name. The cording hand is a little misshaped but any one who plays knows that our fingers do assume some weird shapes as we make the cords. Great job.

I just had to review this one, since this grand old man has passed away. It was all over the news here in Norway as well. Of course this is also a really great entry for the contest, and I am indeed impressed how wall you have done the drawing. BB King looks just like himself, and I like so much that you did this into an action portrait instead of just a portrait.

I just love the colors you have used here, and they stand out so well against the dark background. This is also done with great attention to details and especially the hands are done really well. It is also nice shadings and added high lights.

The composition is very good with a perfect framing and with the added initials in white. You for sure are a master with your sharpies, and this drawing is indeed well crafted. I wish you luck with the contest.

Wow, this is an awesome portrait of the late BB King playing his beloved guitar (Lucille?). Perfect timing and tribute with his passing. Great facial expression and very colorful attire that pop against the black background. Nice interplay of light and shadow. Great visual impact. Very well done. ~Alveria

A beautiful tribute through an outstanding work. Indeed he will be missed! Had the pleasure of seeing him years ago in a rather small venue an unforgettable experience. This man was an artist in every sense of the word! Thanks so very much for the amazing tribute.

What a perfect contest entry. What perfect timing for this particular Art. . . B B King. . . I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert a little over a year ago. I enjoyed it immensely. This is a fine piece of work. I especially like that you chose purple for his outfit. Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red. The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic. So, I give you an A+ for your color choice. Hmm, just thinking out loud. . .I have a miniature version of his magical "Lucille" guitar (that you have so well displayed within your art) with carrying case and all. . .curious what it is worth now, today. . .compared to a week ago. . .hmm
Excellent overall. Thank you for this Art of a man that will be missed by many such as myself.
