This is a really great piece and worthy of a six star rating if I could give you one. Forgive me but I do have one critique. I see shadows for everything except the chalice.. I would be surprised if anyone else has noticed it or perhaps I am just not seeing it correctly. The detail is amazing. This is one of my favorite pieces on this site. You did an incredible job. I will give you a little secret. If you look at my Tropical Sunrise painting the horizon line on the left side of the painting isn't straight. But lets keep that between us. Art wouldn't be fun if it were always perfect.

Shhhhh. Don't say that too loud. LOL. Me and you are the only one's that noticed that :) I did fix it in the original, but didn't upload it because it was soon to go off listing, so I didn't bother. Not sure I like it though, it adds too much dark to the painting. Regarding your painting, has anyone noticed yet? I think the trees and the beautiful blue in the inlet draws the eye, so many are probably not noticing the horizon. Thank you so much for the beautiful review on this, David!! Your comments and tips are truly appreciated. :)shawn

Hi Shawn,

Your aristry is ALWAYS beautiful! You create breathraking imagery.I don't know if those are feathers on grass on top of the stunning ornate glass but I LOVE the way they fall and the lovely detail in them. I love your placement of objects in the
scene. THe pearls drape beautifully! I also LOVE the gorgeous complimentary colors you used in this.

VERY deserving of six stars My Friend. YOU are a JOY to review! :o) Helvi

Hey Shawn, I stopped by to breath a little FAR air and saw your posting. Overall, it is a delicate beauty. The fine details of the feathers are quite impressive. Excellent flowers, pearls are interesting. Lovely composition and color. I have posted just one painting so far this year. Anyway....your digital art has come a loooong way. I am less than 2 weeks from opening an art gallery and Artist Services Center. The center will have digital photography, framing, matting...anything that artists need to prepare their art for shows or to sell. I thought I told you this before...but don't remember for sure. The grand opening is Sept. 21. It is exciting and scary at the same time. Hope all is well with you. Russ Cleversley

Well, blow me over, LOL. Hey Russ. What a beautiful review, and thank you for the galaxy of stars. I really appreciate both, my friend. I still haven't had the "get up and go" to jump into CS5 yet. Maybe it's because I'm getting too old to learn new stuff. You had told me about your Artist Services Center before but I forgot the opening date. I hope you're going to be taking pictures. 9 more days :) Good Luck!!! I wish I could be there. Are you getting in on FAR's get together in NY? Because of our business I know I won't be able to get away. Anyway, the way things are in the world today, I don't think I want to get anywhere near NY, LOL. And it's for sure I wouldn't want to fly. 6 days and 6 nights drive time. 3000+ miles. Have done it 3 or 4 times before. Well, enough with the letter here, LOL, Again thank you, and super luck on your grand opening!! :)shawn

Hey girl...you are welcome. Thanks for the good wishes on my new venture. I won't be attending the FAR gig. If I am going to travel any distance to somewhere, it would have to be something more important and urgent than a FAR thingie. It would be nice to meet you but....that will most likely never happen. But, it is nice having you as a "penpal".

CS5 isn't that different than CS4. I sometimes feel that I am too old to learn. Life has become too technologically complex. Hell, I have a tough time just operating my cell phone. My 8 grandkids show me all of the neat features on my iMac. Oh yes, speaking of children, I became a great Great Grandfather last week....a baby girl, 7lbs 2 ozs. Damn...now I DO feel old!! That makes 9 grandkids.

    Be good,

    Russ

This is an excellent work, Shawn, especially for its brilliant color composition. I haven't seen your work here for some time, so I am assuming that you had taken a leave of sorts. Anyway, very well done and thank you for sharing.--Dr. Carlton

What a surprise and honor this is, Dieter. Yes, I took a break for about a year to redo some of my work which I posted on another site for sale. With the way things are in the world people just aren't buying art of any kind. I sold several greeting cards, a few posters and prints, but nothing to get rich on, LOL. Just thought I'd post a couple things here to see if anyone I know is still on FAR. Happy to learn there are quite a few. :) Good to hear from you, and I thank you deeply for the wonderful comments. They are very much appreciated. :)shawn
PS: Heard from Russ on this one too, which was a huge suprise. :))

Very nice colors and the detail throughout the image is outstanding. The layout of the elements in the photo make a very strong, well balance composition.

This is so pretty.
I like the textures of feathers, flowers, the goblet and pearls against the delicate draped backround and smooth ground.
The colors are beautiful and contrast well.
LIke how the goblet with pearls/feathers etc. is backed by some interesting shapes in the backround, maybe perfume bottles and the curtains. The girls things are center stage.
Nice composition.
Nice amount of light.
Like this work.
