Very good tones with the black background sure makes it stand out. Great job using the light without blowing anything out. Good luck in the contest.

What a beautiful flower this is. Hibiscus are one of my favourite flower types - the blooms are amazing, but this has more impact than most due to the exquisite colour. I like the way you have framed the shot and focus is very good. The green foliage adds more colour and interest and I like the blurred foreground, placing emphasize on the bloom.

Love the DOF, POV, colors, and contrasts. I may have toned down the highlights a bit, but overall a beautiful picture, great job!

Great shot Mary Elizabeth, I really like your framing and POV, plus the delicious purple, which contrasts so well against the green foliage in the background. It must be the time of the year, as I've just posted a couple of photos, including a Ballarat Begonia. Very good camera work with this (details?) Nicely done.

apart from cropping, but hey we all do that. This flower almost looks like it has been made of paper, lovely colors and textures, wonderful clarity, focus and depth of field. Nice job
