I like this bobcat pencil drawing a great deal. It is very real. The color contrasted is nicely done. The shadowing is well balanced. You have done a great job putting everything together. Nice work.

Comment from Rons Pen Art

Although your notes state you wanted to capture minimal amount of the animal, it lacks overall completion so as to see what the animal truly is, one can guess at some type of cat. The whiskers are missing. It is nice in a way what you have done, but I feel this work is not completed, repost and I can re evaluate it for you, thanks and god bless!

Ron, Thanks for the constructive cirtique, I'll look at the wiskers and see how they either help or hinder my intent, if I like what it does I'll repost, or maybe even if I don't like it... it will take sometime.. if I do, I'll send you a message so you can view my attempt at improving the image...again thanks, much appreciated... take care & Cheers LvO

This is a very nice piece Lee. The proportion of the head seems too heavy to me below his mouth line, and the nose doesn't fade in from the line of demarcation where he disappears. It seems too heavily accented next to the softness of the rest of him. I love the eyes and the fur texture is exquisite:)

The Muse Diva, thanks for taking the time to view and review, I'm' trying to understand what you are saying and will definately give it more time and consideration to decipher waht you mean.. thanks again and take care cheers... LvO

Ah. OK what I mean is this. See how his nose is so dark and heavily lined, when the rest of him is done in fine lines? Also see how his chin is rounded? Bobcats have rather squarish chins, and are often tufted. Last, his nose doesnt fade in from the leftside, where there is nothing. So the eye is drawn to the nose, and it stands out too mjuch from the rest of the drawing. Hope thats clearer:)

Yes you certainly have done that, whether this animal
is drawn in full or partial you have still managed to portray
the view of a beautiful creature. The detail is excellent. Poll

Nice job capturing the essence of the animal. This really has a lot of great detail. I wouldlike to have seen a bit more of the animal - at least the rest of the head including the ears on the side you drew. Hard to believe this was done in just pencil. Must be nice to have so much talent.

pgrierson, seems like that is the consensus, with out the ears it's not complete, or a partial representaion of the head makes it not complete... thanks for the rating and the wonderful comments about my skill level...much appreciated...take care... Cheers, LvO

Lucien, this is so good, excellent in fact. You have captured the likeness of this animal, you are so talented, I don't think I draw a straight line straight! LOL.

No joy Lucien - it could still be a bear or a dog. Only the caption actually locks it in as a bob cat. Maybe a bit of the ear would get you there.
By the way, never did send you the tiger image - it was on my other laptop and my kids have run away with it now. Will retrieve it and send it sooner or later - my apologies.

This is an interesting piece of art.it is well done.Personal choice would have been to see the ears with those pointed little hairs that bob cats have.It would have said Bobcat.. more than just cat.But your skill is evident again.Well done.
