This is gorgeous Linda. I adore how you focused the face of the little girl and how the focus fades every so slightly throughout the rest of the drawing. Simply beautiful! I wish you luck in the contest for this one, but I dont see that it is in one? Whatever the case may be... Its a winner in my book. ;)

Beautiful drawing of a little girl, Linda. Nice light and shadow on her face and highlights on her hair. Her eyes are beautiful and full of innocence as is her facial expression. Great framing and visual impact. Very well done. Beautiful work. ~Alveria

I made a big mistake. I thought I had entered it, and I posted with my name on it. This being a blind contest, I couldn't go back and re-enter. I was kind of sad.

Simply stunning photo and so good a choice to go with Maurice Chevalier's song. I love how you have made her eyes sparkle and show mischief of a little girl. The shading is superb. One thing I do notice is the shoulder on the left is a little square but does not detract from the beauty of the portrait

You are my favorite artist by far, consistently all these years! Such rich intricate detailing always, featuring with so much expression and character, lit wonderment in your light to dark contrasting with beautiful flow of form. Love your shading technique and expressive wonder found in all your drawings. What a little beauty and a wonderful graphite rendering.

Another stunning work. Your lighting brings a warmly beautiful feel to this work. After spending time with this work, I realized the eyes and facial expression of the subject...are wise beyond her years. It's as if she possess knowledge, perhaps an insight the rest of us are not privy to, a beautiful secret. Yes, she possesses thoughts beyond our comprehension...A beautifully engaging work. Excellent. Thank you.

Linda, I'm disappointed all your work doesn't receive 6 stars! My wife and I have six grandchildren, three of them girls. It's been a long time since they were "little", but this one brought to mind one of them. Thank you.
As a "drawer" myself I look at details. In that you have no peer. Your work is so technically superior that it does NOT call attention to it, instead you focus everything on the subject.
I've always thought that portrait work is the supreme art. You have it down.
