A beautiful picture of this Red Hornet it's outer shell & gossamer wings shining in the sunlight as it sucks nectar from what looks like a species of wild Mint. Not an insect you'd want to hold an argument with! Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Oh my goodness. That's a big red hornet. That is fantastic detail. Thank you for not capturing his big eyes. This is great detail and focus. The colors are fantastic and have great contrast. The blue of the background is nice. Story telling ability...duh! I literally said out loud OMG, when that bee flew onto my screen. For a bee, I really enjoyed the colorful shot. I don't know where your at, but Hornets look just like that here in the Pacifuc Northwest, but yellow and black. Red is interesting. I'll still sweat at one. But prettier colors.

This is such a great close up of the hornet on the flower.
Great focus. Crisp and clear.
Although I do not find bugs attractive it is amazing the of the great intricate facets of the body make up.
Perfectly framed and well presented.

Amazing capture! Perfect focus, the image is absolutely clear, perfect exposure , colors and tones appear natural. This hornet shows all of its details from end to end! I like the purple flowers too! This is awesome work! Best wishes to you in the contest!

The flower is slightly out of focus which is perfect leaving this burnt sienna hornet silhouetted against the complementary green background.
It is a great photo!
