Beautiful photo. I like what you did with it. I didn't know you could do so much. Was it all done on a computer or your phone? I want to learn how to do more with my photos, like how to delete distractions. Good luck!

Hi Lucy. Thank you for your kind words in the review.
I take all my photos with an iPhone7. I usually do not use the effects editor in the phone. I use 'Smart Photo Editor' for the most part to work on the photos to make them look better and more artistic. I think you can get a free version to try out, but you cannot save the results. It costs about $35.00 I think. Check it out. It has an erase tool, saturation tool, etc. and can can do more things than you can imagine. I have had it for three years and still don't know what all it can do. Check it out. There are also numerous Free after photo programs that you can download and use (Photo Monkey, etc.) Just check on line and see what there is.
One thing: You rated this image as Three Stars. If you go to 'Community' at the top of the page, click on it. Then click on 'Questions and Answers'. There is a lot of good information on there. As you scroll through the information you will come to see what the Star rating system is all about. Three Stars means that the image is below average. No problem. The important thing is that Any rating Below a Five Star should be accompanied by an explanation of what you think could be improved in the image. That way the person can learn how to improve their work. Just something to think about as you continue to make more and more reviews.
Again Lucy, thank you so much for your very kind and encouraging comments. And Do check out the after photo software ~ Steve

Oh no! I?m sorry, I didn?t see that part about the ratings or I would have given you a 5. Definitely not below average. Thanks for all the helpful information as I?m just starting out. I?m new to this site. How do you like it?

I have learned SO much from this site. I look at the other postings, both photos and art. I think it has given me many ideas and given me a more artistic eye. I have learned many things of what Not to do in a photo.
No problem with the rating. I have accidentally pushed the wrong star button several times before. I simply go back to the photo and change the rating to what I originally wanted.
Again, not a problem. You will get the hang of things.
Here is a little secret: When you go under 'View' at the top of the page click on it. Then click on 'Up Next'. These images will give you a 25% chance of getting a Free Member Cent Pump. These can be used to promote your photo and you never have to pay for them. I do it all the time. Shhhh. This is Our Secret.

I love the silhouette of the Palm fronds against the orange guy. The tree actually does look a little bit sinister! I noticed the strange texture in the sky before I read that it was made to look like paint strokes. It definitely bring some interest there, but overall it definitely does not look like a painting. I also get a sense of something forboding... Like that sailboat is not going to make is way home.I think it's a bit strange because all of the objects in the picture are beautiful and usually associated with serenity. I think maybe it's the lighting and I'm not saying that's a problem! It makes it cool.

Thank you so much Lora for your review and comments. This was taken in Puerto Vallarta and the ship is a Pirate Ship that takes tourists around the bay. I saw it coming and took a series of shots as it entered and left the suns reflection on the water. It does make for an interesting scene I think.
Again I really appreciate your thoughts on this one Lora ~ Steve

You creation looks like a painting. Especially the waves and the circular textures around the sun disk are looking like brush strokes. The colors are beautiful. The perspective is excellent. The mixed media is exquisitely composed. The palm tree emphasizes the scenery considerably. The composition is perfectly balanced and framed.

Hi Steve , my initial impression is that this is actually a painting, it's absolutely beautiful ! I especially
Ike the rich warm orange to gold tones in the sky, the boat placed right under the setting sun and the palm tree standing in silhouette, I see a slight vignette and feel that it holds the eye on the sun , boat and the light reflecting on the water, this is well photographed with good focus, the image is clear, your post processing was effective to give this the look of a well executed painting. Well presented!

Your photo certainly looks like a painting. Well done on the editing. Centering the boat in the frame and placing it directly in front of the moonlight makes the composition really stand apart. White balance and lighting are well done.

Oh, this is a beauty, Steve. The composition is total perfection with just the right low horizon and anchoring palm. The lighting has been strategically and artistically nuanced light and dark areas. Very nice painterly effect and the ship silhouette seals the deal for me. Sorry no sixes left, l but you have a virtual one from me. Great job, my friend. Ed.
