Pat,
A beautiful picture of the scarlet Tulip glowing in the light as it stands out from it's black background. Every tiny detail of it's petals seen in sharp focus.
Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Everybody takes flower shots Pat but few get it right like you have with this one, the square crop presentation is for me the best way as is that black background this directs the attentions right at the flower no distraction, so many fall into the trap of flower photography by having all the surrounding foliage and plants included which defeats the objective and make the eye wonder all over the image but not with this little beauty!
The light is also a key factor showing off all the forms of the petals and this in turn gives the image real depth without ant over exposed highlight nor under exposed shadows except for the black surrounds!

The rake lighting makes the detail sing in this tulip. Nicely set off against the black background. Nice curves and the red just glows in this image. Very nice.

With yor permission I would like to put this one in my " to paint in oils file" ready for a rainy day with reference to yourself if exhibited in any way ..please ?
