Happy Birthday Oliver!
I know he is an handsome adult now, but he was adorable as a puppy also. He looks thoughtful and observant. Your photo is excellent focused and exposed and has good depth. I enjoy the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The portrait is well composed and framed. Oliver is perfect placed within the frame. The portrait is balanced.

A very Happy Birthday to Oliver,he's only a few months younger than my Golden, Shiloh! What a darling pup,so very cute,love the way his head is tilted, and those big soulful eyes. So very well photographed, I can see the detailing in his puppy coat and his sweet whiskers,the lighting is beautiful. I'm quite sure he is lucky to have you, too!

I like the use of the dark green backdrop. It is different and highlight your buddy perfectly. Your lighting shows off the fur. How did you light this?

I placed him in the light from a hanging lamp with a soft lightbulb.

Wow, just a hanging lamp. Just goes to show you a great photo doesn't need special lighting. All you need is a light correctly placed and an expert behind the camera.
