This is a beautiful shot of waves, and reminds me of my childhood watching big waves coming in . I know so well why the water is brown in the foreground and mid area, and that deep sea green in the rest of the picture. Looks like you caught the wave breaking at just the right time.

Ooo, I really like the color of the water in this shot.. the green makes a good focal point for the eye and also harmonizes/contrasts well with the sky and the white in the tips of the waves. I really like the timing of the shot, as that position of the wave truly shows motion in the water. I do think, however, that focus could be a little stronger in the water (look where I pointed.. focus seems a little soft there). It is possible that you needed a faster shutter speed than 1/400th.. Additionally, in my personal opinion, I think the image would have a little more impact if the sky was more vibrant.
However, this is a great image and I really enjoyed viewing it. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so very much. I appreciate your great review and your input. I'm very sorry for responding so late.
I'll try a faster shutter next time. The sky was as shown. I would have to use mixed media to change it. I didn't since the picture was a contest entry for traditional photography.

Very nice angle for this shot. It seems as if you are under the waves, very dramatic. Love the colors, contrast and sharpness. I think your cropping should have been a bit different. You have divided the frame in two (almost), I feel I need to see more of the sky. Thanks for sharing and good luck, Dimitri

Stunning, stunning wave picture. I love the sky and the break as it comes to shore. The green in the wave looks a bit over saturated to me, but the photo is still stunning. Thanks or sharing.
