Nice Sci-fi image very well rendered the blue disc on the tombe creates a great focal point. This reminds me of the `Necropolis`(city of the dead)cemetary in Glasgow ,Scotland which has a massive collection of sculpted headstones and tombes built by the better off merchants of the city and is now a sort of sculpture park but lots of planets don`t float above it!!

A very clever and creative considering your limited resources! The fantasy story is perfectly matched to the wonderful composition. The planets and other sky effects work really well creating the atmosphere. The gateway symbolising a graveyard, leading into a sunny, happy place beyond tells the story so well. A very nice work to review! Well done!

Good Work and example of what can be done with Digital Art. Ive done a few, but none as complex as this one. An interesting fantasy.
Generally when painting with acrylics, to show greater depth, have used light areas in the foreground, and fading darker in the distance. You created a very interesting tree in the foreground, it gets darker to the gate, then gets lighter in the city, brighter in the planets. But, the bright blue light in the tower pulls the eye right back into a dominant area of the image. SO, it works for me.

Use on my computer a zone scale to delineate specific zones of gray or contrast, from 0 to 10. Your image is full scale,on my calibrated monitor.
The color is excellent, with good detail in the image and the shades in mid-tones, etc.
Impact - Powerful
Creativity: Very Original
Creativity is more than capturing an image. Ansel Adams said, "80% of my
images are created in processing." When we Aim for quality, with practice, we can achieve it.
When working on an image, many make variations. And
then decide which they like best. With experience gained doing this, we reach a point where we develop our own style.
In my opinion, nothing in Photography is wrong. Some "Technical" photography rules, were made to be broken, when breaking them is creative or expresses your
feelings. Many who write reviews, feel they must "go by the rules."
Only if you _feel_ it is not quite right, change it....
Composition -
Love it when people "compose for maximum impact. You seem to have done that. There is a lot of info on the Internet about composition. People can learn a lot, in tutorials on You-Tube or other sites. Even after over 70 years, am still learning to show what I feel.
In composition, we want to choose a powerful interest point, then put it into the
position with most impact. You have done that.
Story -
Photography is Communication.
You communicated much, I get good feelings from this Photo. Photos are worth thousands of words. It takes no words to express feelings in a Photo.
If your Photo communicates something you feel, to only one person, it is a success.
Photography is an art, as well as a means of showing others what we see or feel
and though photos straight out of a camera can be good, with some work, they can express your feelings. When your photo does this, a Story has been told.
Many times we can learn more from playing with images to tell a better story. Play
with -copies- of images to see what happens as you use your imagination.

Technical :
Calibrated Monitors make it easier to show viewers the way we see it. Monitors do
not come that way. Pro's. Spend $300-600 or more for a device to calibrate them.
What is Gamma, and why do I care? Monitors, can be reasonably calibrated, with Adobe Gamma, which is free. What looks good on your monitor, if not calibrated, will not look as good on the viewers.
It means comments in reviews about problems you do not see on your monitor. Output brightness of a monitor isn't linear.
For example when displaying a gray square, with a color half way between white and black, the result will not be half as bright as a full white. This effect doesn't
just apply to brightness of grays, but also the shade of most colors, and so can completely change the viewed image.
Gamma correction is a factor by which software can correct for this non-linearity,so resulting in a correctly displayed image.
For more info: http://www.cgsd.com/papers/gamma.html
When some tell you, colors are off, if you have a calibrated monitor, you know
they do not.
Artists use colors which express what you "feel" about the image. Not "technically correct." If we change colors or make them the way we want, it says what we want to communicate.
Firefox may be the only calibrated Browser. When we create, and the viewer uses Firefox on a calibrated monitor, it looks like our original.
So I use Firefox

Thank you so very much for the very informative review, RedRock. I'm surprised you got a good reading on my work as far as brightness and color. My monitor is new and I'm having a bit of a time with it separating my gradients, which if figure means that it is set too bright. It's driving me crazy with my artwork.
Again, thank you for the great review. :) Shawn

Wonderful imagination and talent. I liked the tree in the left corner. It put depth in the image. I liked the walkway to the gate. My eyes were drawn to the blue light in the round window. There are so many niches, and you are as talented as your awards.

I would guess this is not real. Oh darn. I like the design of the thick fence is in silhouette from the sun. The shadows flow through the archway. On the other side of the fence is a city where many people have been set for a very warm grave. I love the many planets and small satellites. Very interesting grasses and trees.

I love the story that goes with this one. I am a sci-fi writer but not on fan story; I just don't have time. But this kind of art is very inspiring. I love your colors and the fact that the foreground is unpaved, like the whole thing is put on a barren planet and faked for the punters. Well done.
