Shiloh, I looked up Alium on the Internet, mostly because I've never heard of them. You know I make everything up as I paint it, so I was really blown away when I saw them. I don't think I could have gotten any closer to the real thing. The ones I found were purple, white, pink, a darker red, and blue. I only looked at the one site. I thank you so much for the wonderful review, and the chance to learn something new :) Shawn

The misty looking background is nice and blends into the colors of the flowers which are also a pretty color.
The grass and leaves and the small hills in front of and behind the flowers have a nice balance.
Whole picture is good.

I need to learn how to do this digital art thing better this is really quite nice....
Initial impact: spice, too cool for words
Creativity of presentation: framed and thought out with artistic imagination of being innovated
Color Harmony: these colors sing....
Center of Interest: the flowers
Technical Excellence: expert
Technique: smooth and soothing to the eye
Story Telling Ability: don't no much about photography, don't no much about this here bush, but I can work it out...and you did....
Lighting: --

To tell you the truth, Rainey, I don't know ANYTHING about photography LOL. This is a digital painting and the flowers are a figment of my imagination :) I usually just make things up as I go. I do thank you so very much for the beautiful review. I truly appreciate it :) Shawn

Wow - this makes this piece even better than I thought... you have some talent there...you go on now... don't let me make you stop...

This is sooo funny, Rainey. I just received a review that mentioned that these flowers look like Alium. I looked them up on the Internet, and it about blew me away. Mine look almost exactly like them. There's one reviewer who lives in South America somewhere, and when I do some crazy flower that I have just made up...more than once she tells me that it looks so close to some flower they have down there. Crazy! I've never even been to South America LOL! I've decided that no matter what you make up, there seems to be something like it somewhere in the world. :)

There is nothing new under the sun...this is coming from the sub- part that storage area that is sometimes dusty and it speaks loud and clear - you've been to S.A. before at least on TV maybe...it is pretty funny though -- thanks for keeping me updated...

Good grief..did you hand paint each one of those petals, and then shade them..I am awed by the depth, and the realism in this picture! Donkeyoatey

Hi, DonQ. I thank you for the beautiful review! No, not each petal, but each little blossom. What I mean is, each petal was created into a blossom, then each blossom was applied to the painting. Again, thank you!! :) Shawn

Old fashioned?..I guess those of us that really like this qualify as well..LOL I for one really enjoy the more muted tones and its always a bit of a stretch to post them.A lot of people only like the ones that assault the eyes with color.. I try to sneak these in occasionally too and find them most worthy. Very good detail and the misty/foggy background gives the creation good depth.. I just got back from a week in the high Sierra and encountered a lot of flowers that look very similar...(but I think they were real?..)...Nice viewing...Dennis

Amazing how you do this The detail in the flowers is awesome. I like the little white ones coming off of them. The detail and the different kinds of leaves is great. I like the way you can just see what is in the background. The way the light comes in is excellent. A very creative, beautiful and excellent work of art.

Another very fine piece Shawn. I especially like the way the colour tone in the flowers darkens to meet up with the moody sky. Really well detailed work and sharp. Very well framed too. Congrats . flanders

That is a lovely digital picture with soft and realistic color and form. You have a fine composition and a very nice background against which the flowers stand out.
