Nice capture with good story telling ability. The composition is good but the shadow in his face is a bit of a distraction.

Thanks for sharing.

I feel this image truly captures the moment. You can see the hard lines in his face that match the passage of experiences through out his life. The lit cigarette also echos the hard march of time and that he is truly a hard working man. The squinting eyes and gazing to the distance make you wonder what he is thinking about. I may have liked to have seen a little less of such a hard shadow with the hat but in someways that also adds to the hard life feeling.

This is a great shot of this guy with good story-telling ability. Good initial impact and interest. I like the expression on his face and the colors. You were really able to capture the emotion

Great picture. You really captured his essence, I think. Looks like a really interesting person to meet. What you see is what you get.

A portrait with a story. You have captured him well. I like that he is looking away from the camera Gives it a more candid feel. The ciggie is a nice touch. Tells us a little more about him. Probably one of his few pleasures in life. Great light colour and focus is tack sharp

What is really nice is this portrait does not look posed. So nice job.

You caught a man with a very expressive face in what looks to be perhaps a pensive stance. The cigarette in his mouth underscores the earthy quality that this man exhibits.

You have his face well focused and the background well blurred. Perfect.

The exposure is a little harsh on the right side of his face, but there again, I'm not too bothered by that given the subject matter, a man living in somewhat harsh conditions.

Well done.

Wow, all technicals clearly 5s. Focus is excellent, DoF blurring is well controlled and most appropriate, exposure is great. The highlights are not blown out, which is most important in a shot like this, and the shadow isn't too dark. Composition is also excellent, I like how tight the cropping, it really helps us see that his life is difficult. Story-telling is extremely strong, despite this photo being a close-up. You can tell his skin is rough from a lifetime of working outside, his eyes look worried, and he smokes. Nice job. Your notes compliment this nicely and provide more story, but I don't even think they were necessary to illustrate what you were going for! Very nicely done, thanks for sharing!

You need to tone down the light on his face. It is a tad bright. Focus is very good. Framing is well done. Great story to go with it.
