Thsank you very much! I cannot take credit for the title because I have stolen it from Carroll. Its the title of chaspter three of the original Looking-Glass story.

I like very much the insects in Alice's garden. They are large and they are colourful. The greenery is well done and very realistic. However, Alice in this shot doesn't seem to be involved in the story and she seems kind of reticent about her being there. Thanks for sharing Cyn

Thank you very much. I appreciate your kind review and your input. You are exactly right about Alice. Thanks for seeing the discrepancy of the cherfull scenery and Alice. It is what I wanted. She just got to square four an she dos not like it much. Keep in mine; these colorful insects are still insects. Alice is, account to the book, affraid of insects. How would you feel being a little girl affraid of them and facing a chicken sized Gnat who is talking to you? Nevertheless she is not too affraid and keeps on going, but she is not involved. She is surveying and a bit affraid. That at least is as I see the story.

This is great work to tell this story.I like the natural setting and feeling.Your model is doing a great job also.Focus with good clarity. The green foliage through out is highlighting all the bright insects well.Enjoyed.Thank you.

Wonderful concept here. She is charming with that insecure look. nice depth with the various green grass and the butterflies are a nice fantasy addition to the piece.

Thank you very much! She is indeed unsecure with all these strange insects around an especially because [accound to Carrols original story] a chicken sized Gnat is talking to her.

Great job creating a fantasy land.such a happy looking place with great color. But at the same time it shows sadness. Nothing is happy in a happy looking place. The girl looks lonely or worried.
Its has great color and balance.
Gives the impression the no matter how wonderful a place looks at first. It might not be what will make you happy. Would make a great depression slogan. No matter how happy you are on the out side you can still be miserable underneath.

Thank you for your kind review. I guess happiness is in the eye of the beholder. I am usually happy on the in and the outside, were ever I am. My glass is never half empty, It's allways half full. If I dislike a place or be unhappy there, I just change places. For what we are a live if we can't make ourselves happy? By the way, she is a very happy child, just a bit shy when she knows she will be photographed. That shyness is just what I wanted because that is the situation. She just came to square four and is talking with the gnat.
I hope you will be happy and not miserable underneath.

it is really a great pic. big money pro's could not do any better. this pic. in the right place or contest could do well. i was not meaning any thing bad about your girl. i was just reading what kind of story your photo was telling. i am sure some will read it differently. hope i did not miss what you were trying to exspress to bad.

Thank you! I did not mean you said anything against the girl, who is the child of one of our neighbors. I had the feel you, yourself were unhappy on the place you are or had some experiences of it. Somehow you sounded that way. That is why I wrote about happiness in my repky. Pictures and ratings on that site is not everything on this site, For some of us it is also about helping each other artistically as personally. I am sorry is I read a meaning into your words what is not true.
I think the story is hard to understand without knowing the book. The picture illustrates the third chapter of Lewis Carrolls Through the Looking-Glass [1898], the second book of the Alice in Wonderland stories. Alice in the book is an happy child, just as Emma=Alice in the picture, but she is a bit wary of insects, especially over sized insects as those.

Thank you very much for your review, the wishes and your input. Ouch! I decreased contrast and color and used a transparent brush on Alice' outlines to fuzz her image a bit sinse she is in the looking glass. Guess it did not work.

This is so neat the way you have done it. She is so cute and I like the way she is standing in the grass like this. You have added some neat things to the picture. A very creative picture.

Beautiful little girl. What a lot of work to use eleven pictures. I would
