Love these birds, they are just so beautiful. Their colors of blue, orange and white are just darling. I wouldn't mind seeing these kind of birds around, sadly we see more of cardinals, sparrows, chickadees and robins then anything else. Great picture you have here!

I totally agree. This is really a pretty bird and the blue colors are really standing out. The bird looks so good against the nicely blurred background.
Your focus is nice and sharp showing very fine details in the feathers and you have captured the bright and shiny eye very well. Also the exposure is spot on and the colors are nice and natural.
I also think the placement of the bird within the frame works well together with the neat cropping. The bird sitting on an iron bar and the curve of it adds interest. I also think the pose of the bird is very cute. This is a very nice close up and your image is nicely balanced and with good DOFF. I wish you luck with the contest.

Absolutely beautiful shot you captured here. The colors are great and the tones surrounding the bird look manipulated [which wouldn't matter anyhow] but i don't see that in your notes, so

Thank you so very much for a great review and high score! The background is trees. I did use the burn tool some to darken it in spots.

well it's awesome, don't know how to use the burn tool, but you sure do.

The burn tool is one of the tools found in photoshop and elements. You just place it on the area you want and click on it. The area will get darker and the more you click it the darker it gets. I use it a lot!

Ohhh, I love these little birds. I have taken a few pics of these little guys myself but haven't gotten one as clear and beautiful as this one. Colors and clarity are amazing. I love the simplicity with nothing to distract from the bird. Great job.
