I so love your bird close-ups. They are always great. I love all the wonderful details captured here, all the fine feathers. And the blurred green background looks so great against his beautiful red. And I like how you even managed to get the catchlight in his eye.

His color is really a wonder of nature, and your green backround, with a lighter shade around him contrasts well.
nice profile showing eye, beak and food.
vertical frame accomodates the tall feathers on his head.
excellent focus and DOF.
light is just right.

What a brightly coloured bird! I like the profile view of the bird's head and the way you have captured him munching his way through a seed. That beak looks powerful! Very good focus and beautiful colours, enhanced by the green tones in the background.

Beautiful bird. I love the intense red. The black around his beak really stands out. I like the fact that he has a red beak too. Nice green background, compliments the red. Very striking. Nice shot, photo.
