Yes, they are not excellent swimmers but the fierce look (or is it a blank stare) is quite intimidating as a result of the one-sided lighting. Be it an indication of aquatic apprehension, but the raising of the lion's tail was gracefully captured even if it is partially shaded. The blue reflection give this drought-stricken riverbank a fresher contrast. The cropping is just right although the subject lacks a little sharpness...

Great shot of the king of the beasts, what a beauty he is. Great detail in this shot fantastic eyes, and intention of purpose in his manner. Nice composition.

Ha, Ha, looks as though he is coming right for you. Lions represent my birth sign so always interested to view photographs of them. This is an attractive male with big mane. Would have liked to see him a little larger in the frame but of course I understand why you kept your distance. His tail sticking up like a beacon amuses me. Very good focus and natural colours too.

Reviewed from larger picture and I don't think I would wait either. He looks like a lovely specimen of the male and you have captured his expression well. Good lighting and color balance. The detail is strong and it is well framed
Thanks for sharing

Wonderful!! He's so adorable! Your composition and contrast really make the lion stand out. The color of the water is nice and it's amazing that you were able to maintain this blue and the green in the background. Amazing!
