I remember many scenes like this in the Uk and quite honestly I do miss them. This is a beautiful paiting and I especially like the stone bridge. Well done and thanks for the memories.

Robin.

A lovely scene. Very green. :) I like the break up of the blues in this. The bridge is nice, as is the man and dog. The water looks great with it's reflections. Very nice painting. Good luck in the contest!

Very well done Suzanne. A very peaceful, serein / dreamy spot. A wonderful place to refuel and leave your troubles behind.

You have masterfully captured and shared this tranquil / imagined scene. Your technique with the brush has achieved definition, detail and texture in the elements showcased. Nice reflection noticed. I like the choice of man and best friend walking the path. It does indeed add just the right amount of pop to the interest. Very well done. Kathy

a perfect stroll in merry old,,,scenic and peaceful,,,lovely greenery mix in shading and subject,,,the meandering river gives it a sense of purpose and a warm come hither feel,,as the warm sky reflects the feelings of master and canine friend enjoying each others company,,,excellent in all properties including presentation,,,

Beautifully composed oil Suzanne with tremendous depth in the painting. Excellent colors of green with reflective color in the water as well. This is a very textured piece with beautiful detail throughout.

A beautiful and peaceful scene - perfect contest criteria - wonderful landscape , perfectly composed from a nice angle letting the sky shine in at one place giving you a nice reflection in the waters - your detail work is handsome, your color choice for the different subjects is silent - the person with the do brings life into the scene . A very harmonious image - beautifully done, all the best for the contest

Comment from Life is but a dream.

Hi Suzanne, I thought this was yours before your name popped up, it carries your signature.

Tonality is so critical (so my art teacher used to tell me) and it is because of your adept usage of tonality from very (almost black) dark green to white is the reason this art pops.

Compositional style with lead lines well placed take us deep into the interior of your art and thereby giving it a three dimensional feel. Many visual anchors you have provided to engage us in the story of this scene. Dog and owner dimensionally placed drawn to realistic proportions, bridge provides another visual punch and hues of blue that spill from water to walkway echo each other and all is tied in with the azure blue sky.

There is depth and layering seen in the trees through your strokes. Patterns well delineated as well.

It looks like a beautiful world this person and pet live in...it feels safe, it feels clean, it feels alive. I can almost hear the stillness.

Simply charming.
