wow, how beautiful. Love this scene so much, it's painted beautifully. Everything about it looks realistic and I really love it. You can just imagine walking up to the door and asking to be let in and sit near the roaring fire :)

Very nice painting! Love the tonal values of the colors you have used. Your sky and water is exquisite. Nice shading and light. Love the dark tree bark, branches that contrast with the soft colors of the snow and sky. You are a VERY talented artist. Makes me want to see more! BTW, this scene would make a really great cover on a Christmas Card!

It is a lovely scene you have painted here. I always like nature paintings and photos including snow, but being a Norwegian I would sometimes wish we had less of it. What I like especially with this photo is your color pallet and the fine shine you have brought out in the little river.
This is also painted with good attention to details, and for sure with a steady hand. Very fine textures in the snow and lovely light effects.
My only comment is about the balance in the composition. Everything seems to be going on in the right half of the painting leaving the left side a bit empty. Still this is indeed a lovely and well crafted oil painting.

Thank you for your detailed review and good point about the the composition, I did crop some of the original painting on the left, and I think that's what you have spotted, because there's plenty going on on the left side like the boat, the river, the bird and smaller houses, but it could definitely use some more space on the right.

This is very nice right down to the bird in the sky. I like the reflections in the water and the light coming of the snow covered roof. This in my opinion is well balanced and full of good clear detail.

this is a beautiful oil painting. the color choices are beautiful. at first glance i didn't see the boat but it adds a lot to your painting. the snow covered roof, the smoke from the chimney the tree. all add a little something to the scene and adds dimension to it. you did a wonderful job.

Being born and raised in a cold climate everytime I look at something like this I'm glad I left. This setting is wonderful to experence this way. I like the tonalities and colors in this piece. It really show the cold.

Thank you for your comment Randall, I was raised in cold too and been away from it for 20 years, but I miss it, we had a lot of action in winters, skiing, ice skating, sleding, just needed to put enough clothes on;)) Was there something you didn't like in the painting, any correction from you is welcome?
