What a pretty goldfinch. These dock plants that the birds like are interesting too. I am going to have to research them as you have peaked my curiosity. The black crown. Wing tips, and tail feathers are striking against the bright yellow plumage.

Thank you! I think the plant is really interesting too. This is how they look when they have gone to seed. Many parts of the plant are edible and have been used to make teas and dyes.

This is simply a Fabulous shot Grace. I cannot see any way to improve it.
This has everything going for it. The focus is just right (not pinpoint sharp on the back) which gives his a beautiful glow. The colors are so well rendered as to be used in any bird identification book.
The dock plant is in a perfect placement in the scene and draws attention to the main subject.
the background is perfect for accenting this beautiful boy.
