This is a very nice close up shot of a turtle. You capture the details in its face very well. There is good balance between the nostrils and two eyes. Good luck in the contest.

I believe he means it! Great detail, clarity of features. I love the way the subject fills the entire photo, and yet is slightly at an angle. It makes it more interesting. Just a really nice photo.

Well, you got it perfectly! I feel that way about flying insects and almost had a heart attack this morning. Found a bumble bee on my stove! Sure woke me up! It must have gotten in thru the vent. Scared me to death! If this turtle came after me, I would have fallen backwards. I'm not that quick on my feet.

I like this shot a lot! Beautiful range of colors and great angle. I would have liked just a little more depth of field, so that both eyes would have been in focus, but I understand you did not have the luxury of playing around with this lively and aggressive model. Nice work!
