oops! sorry i did this on whim, really didnt want to do a story on her. just wanted her to sit there and look pretty. however, i am so proud of your excellent reveiw. your opinion means a lot and really really thank you for this excellent reveiw!

very interesting piece. I am not familiar with ink and poster board, but the piece is very creative and has good initial impact. The colors flow very well together. and the perspective is pretty good.

well thank you, this type of medium is self taught over 3 decades, lotta trial and errors and throwing away peices. cant make a mistake other wise you just throw it away.. i got as far one pieces made one wrong stroke and screw up some hours of work. man i was pissed! then i just suck it in and start another approach. im so glad you have enjoyed this peice. I am curious though what do you think i could have done to earn the 5th star? thank you for giving me your valuable time and reveiw!
reply by joelpatrick1 on 05-Nov-2011
I just thought that the perspective on the legs was a little off. Other than that though I thought it was great.
reply by the author on 06-Nov-2011
no problem dude i wasnt offended and i really did this on purpose, there some women who dont have big thighs, just my perception and i am really really not offend. as i said before i want to thank you for giving me your valuable time in giving me your opinion and reveiw!

the colors are interesting and vibrant. i like the texture of the jacket. i am a little distracted by the lines on the legs.

roflmao!...lines the legs..ok i forgive ya, this is not paint pal, this is in marker ink. you cant get around that using this type of medium. a majority of the people here or anywhere else is not familiar with it. and that make sense of the 4 star only. if look at all my work its the same. i really do appreciate you giving me your valuable time and giving me this reveiw!
Comment from Anne

Your painting are so unique and beautiful. I like all the detail you put in them. The coloring is beautiful in this. I like the pose and the expression. All she needs is a cowboy hat to go with that beautiful jacket. I need a picture of just the jacket to take to the tailor to make one for me. Just a different color. This old lady would look funny in yellow. I want a blue jean one! An excellent work of art.

i need to ask the wife where she bought that jacket (i copied it from)...i usually dont ask, you know, hubby thing but ill let ya know when she gets back. i was tempted about the cowboy hat, but i was raised not to wear hats in the house, habit thing you know..lol by the way dear this isnt paint...its ink..thank you so much for giving me your valuable time and giving me this wonderful reveiw!

well thank you!. your comments means a lot. i in turn respect your talent and appreciate your insight about mine. we both have 2 different styles but we express the same thing on paper...passion. i want to thank you for your valuable time and giving me this excellent reveiw!
Comment from Lucien van Oosten

I like the composition, great use of the symbolism of the jutbox. Like the pose, the colors in her golden tanned jacket and the how you repeated the gold in her flesh tone. The details in the lace, that part of the illustration aspect in her top is very well done. Would have been nice to have had all of her hand in the frame. Good luck in the contest.

contest?hmmmm sorry she is no longer in a contest, sorry that came and gone a couple months ago and she did last place. of course it must have been the partial missing hand that put it there huh? i want to thank you for your time and reveiw.
reply by Lucien van Oosten on 05-Nov-2011
    maybe, are you angry?
reply by the author on 05-Nov-2011
nope i was smiling when i said that. i figured in your part of the world things are different and you ASSUME that its like that everywhere else. angry no im used to artist who never have worked with this type medium and dont understand what it intails(one shot deal cant cover up like paint, if there is a mistake just throw it away) i do poster commercial style art. so when you menation the hand, i was really making a joke out of it, because the people who vote for me on here is only competitors on here, not the ones who really count that i really care about...the one who holds the checkbook to pay me is the one i worry about...how bout you?
reply by Lucien van Oosten on 05-Nov-2011
always, if the person paying likes it no one else matter. you also assume something that is not true, I also work in pen and ink
(stippling and pointillism) and I also understand the way that works, no erasing, not covering it up, once it's there it's there, so planing and layout become important. I also do not use an eraser, when I use a pencil. yep, planing is tops in my way of thinking, how about you?
reply by the author on 06-Nov-2011
of course it does that why i do make plan before i pen. so what you see is what i want to express. the feedbacks gives a person the outside point of veiw. sometimes i would take heed and others i would just ignore. its like retail sales. you look for the hot and cold buttons based on volume of reaction. as an artist we tend to do a microscopic look at others based on what they have done and worked with. im trying keep a veiw at these messages of what can i make that could go with a basic ad for the commercial market, not a gallery for people to grasp whatever meaning of life they are going thru. to me this sight just gives me additional ideas with my many other sites that i manage when im not work on other projects. you know I really am starting to repsect you. i do like you honesty and difference of opinions, that your being very constructive. I look forward for your critique on my work again. thank you for taking your valuable time with this feedback!
reply by Lucien van Oosten on 06-Nov-2011
i hope you will also take the time to view my artwork/photos as I get more finished in the future, you are very correct, we need to take what is written see if it might apply and then we as the artist deicide on its value. we decide on how much weight we give it, but when someone says I like it, it tells us every little, but if tehy say I like it because I of the color harmony, or they do not like the color harmony, we have more to go on. ( I would like even more, but many feel intimidated by this honesty as we call it)
but when we post arten't we asking fir that microscope to be used, aren't we asking for an opinion on what we post, looking for a reaction? most wanting to hear it is marvolus, and not the truth?
anyway I enjoyed this conversation with you take care and I'll be looking for more of your work in the future.
    cheers!!!

well thank you Mr jones! i really do appreciate your opinion. However she is no longer in a contest. that was done a couple months ago and she was last place sad to say. if memory serves me she did even get a vote. i was a newbie then i guess. hell who cares, im just repromoting her because i thought she deserved a little more respect and your comments proves that. just like im in the halloween contest and looks like to me again of course some photo (who is not suppose to be there) is gonna beat my other girl. At least she is getting more votes than this beauty here (go figure). I want to really thank you for taking your valuable time in giving me and her this great reveiw. (bowing)
reply by Mr Jones on 05-Nov-2011
well in my opinion it's best to either get first or last. i hate damming art with faint praise. your concentration camp picture was a 6 star work and your fine indian to. what is terrible is indeed to come second. also what will help is when you get a bigger fan base and your 'golden' lady is very hot.
reply by the author on 05-Nov-2011
yes she is hot, thats why i thought she should be parade around one more time..and thank you again about buchenwald 1945 there was a lot aof passion i poured into that one. when i see these kids trying to be skinheads and marching i shudder saying thats how it all started. thank you again for your comment on that too. your opinion does mean a lot to me.

I like it.It is a piece of time drawn and colored back when girls had posters of this sort and now she is the poster! Having four sisters makes me miss those days.I would like to know more about background story and ink type, but colors and jukebox are"music to my eye".By the way, what key are ya in? :)

thank you thom...key? hm..im kinda confused on that question, dont know the question. really this is the real art that i pursue (poster or commercial art) and the ink type? markers..lots of them in all colors (lotta dollars invested) and yes im a sucker for a colorful jukebox. call me old fashion. one day i will get with big boys and do some movie or tv show one day...daym george lucas wont return my calls...lol thank you so much for giving me your valuable time and great reveiw!!
reply by ThomSantistevan on 07-Nov-2011
Haha jk,forgot to write picture felt "so melodic" a little jukebox humor to keep things harmonius :)
