Nice shot, well worth waiting for. Good focus and exposure, nice colours. If I was going to suggest changing anything it would be to crop the top and bottom slightly. Still a great shot as it is

Great stop action capture! The clarity is great along with the color.
Was this taken from far away and cropped in? Or were u really that close?

It's great to see the spread of his wings, their definition.
And his long curving neck and legs/feet.
It shows well against the water.
The water also provides nice color and texture to the picture.
Like where he is placed in the photo.
Good amount of light.
Good focus, especially for a bird in flight.

Cool shot of the heron and a great entry for the contest. You have done very well catching him in flight with a perfect focus and well aligned in the frame. Super job on this one!

This is a simply amazing shot of this blue heron. Every one I have ever seen has been sitting on a stump, first! So I could relate to what you said in your author's notes. Great job with this. Love it.

Great position of the Great Blue but it's head is getting lost in the background very little separation. Not an easy fix though you would have to extract the Heron W and then invert the selection, create a new layer, and then apply a slight blur to the water or maybe just change the color characteristics of it to something that gave it more separation. I will vote for it anyway unless there is something that is really spectacular up against you. LOL Dave

Actually it is pretty easy Willie you should play with you software more. The more you play the easier it becomes. Of course unlike the restof us 90% of your post a 6S and great right out of the camera. dave
