Wonderful detail and sharpness in this very cool bird. Love the detail around his eye. To catch him eating is great. The plain bokeh background works well keeping interest where it belongs, right on the bird. Composed well. Well done. Good luck in the contest.

This is a very good close up shot of a grosbeak bird. The focus is sharp. The seed in the beak adds an element of interest. The neutral background helps enhance the contrast of the bird. The colors are nicely saturated.

GREAT shot. Love the way the back ground is booming in green yet still doesn't take away from the beauty of the bird. Also like how he seems to stop eating and look at you while the picture is being take! :)

This is such a beautiful bird. The coloring with the red and black against the white is stunning. How great it must be to see these birds.
