Yes, it's frustrating but worth the effort. The eyes are especially lovely with that dot of light in his eyes. Great clarity and focus.
I think the hardest part is the bg vs the bits of hair . It's hard to select all those little hairs and it appears as if you lost a little definition on the fur on the edges.
I find the nose a bit dark in comparison with the white of the fur on the mouth and would lighten it a tiny bit.
Still an image that anyone would be very proud of and quite striking with the lovely shades of brown.

5x2=10*s - I love your wolf shots and this one really is special, a real portrait with magic colors - the golden sunset ambiance shining on his fur almost lets him look surreal in beauty - amazing capture, super angel and close up position, our focus is perfect as well as the exposure , - stunning is that the first point of attraction is his eye at the right side of the image - clear. Sharp, luminous - a fantastic picture, perfection in details, thanks for sharing
