You should be very proud as it is quite extraordinary !!! Macro of any kind take lots of practice and knowledge of your camera, when it's a moving object even more so. Fantastic work... Much better then swimming any day!

I think you got your perfect macro here. This is just amazing. These details are unbelievable. I think I could count the fine hairs of the bee. The colors are as perfect: brilliant wile natural and of course the DOF and slight vignetting emphasize the bee like a magnifying glass.

i have been off this site for quite a while... and i was amazed to see this posting from you. i remember some of your earlier attempts at macro last fall and you have improved leaps and bounds.
this shot is amazing quality!!
did you take it hand held or with tripod?
it looks like you took it with a standard lens rather than a macro lens. it does not matter though.. you have still garnered great results.
keep on taking these... you have something here :)

This is a very nice shot of this Bee. The colors and details are great. Lighting and DoF are very nice. CoI and composition are very nice. The vignette around it makes it look it is under a telescope. Thanks for sharing, Southernbelle

I'd say that your study in macro photography was a resounding success. I believe this picture is the finest example of a macro photograph I have ever seen. I even have a six point star left to award. I appreciate the way you have done your artist notes. They are complete in every way from setting up the picture to the details about the camera and camera settings. The only thing I might add to artist notes to make them more complete is the time of day, Conditions affecting lighting, Hand Held or on a tripod. I am not normally a fan of tightly cropped pictures, Here is the exception. Thanks for sharing.
