This immediately caught my attention not only the blue color which is so beautiful but the closeup macro is spot on for focus. Love the reflection in his eye - good luck in competition. :)

Gorgeous shot, these are really pretty birds. I love that color blue.
Great contrast, I like the stark difference between his dark feathers/beak and the lighters feathers/background. Stands out really well, makes for a dynamic piece. Love that up-close, portrait style. I normally have an issue with images being so centered, but considering the portrait style I think that works. And the overall composition isn;t that balanced, so it works. Great flow of imagery; the lines really draw the eye around your work. And nothing leads you out and away from the piece.
You have an excellent photo here, no doubt a wonderful addition to your collection and a very good entree into the contest. Good luck!
