I have never seen a the eye of a Dragon Fly before. This one is looking at me! Willie did you use your telephoto lens or a Macro? Fantastic shot. You certainly picked the right Contest. As usual Great work and thanks for sharing. Also good luck in the contest. Royal

Thank you so very much! I was using the 300 as I was trying to get shots of butterfly's and this guy landed right in front of me!

Thanks Willie, I have a 200mm and was not sure if it could be used for Close-ups.. Now I know. Thanks again. Royal

I get as many close up shots with the long lens as I do with the macro. If your camera has a good sensor you can really get close by cropping.

Thank you Willie, very much appreciated. Will try tomorrow.

Great shot! Love all the green tones. Well framed. I have a nature preserve near here that I slowly drive through photographing the geese, turtles, ducks and such. Nicely balanced photo.

Spectacular macro! It takes great skill to capture fast-moving insects. Excellent focus, depth of field and exposure.

Thank you so very much! The car is a good way to get close to things especially if you are already there. This was when I was trying to get a butterfly and this guy landed right in front of me!
