Extreme close up work this one, executed very well. Love the composition with the diagonal of the wings and the diagonal the other way with the flower and the butterflies head. Nice lighting and the dark blue background works well.

Amazing capture! Your shot is sharp and well exposed giving great details to be seen.
I like how you captured the Tiger Swallowtail so that it is not fully in the frame, the same goes for the flower.
The colours all blend in harmony. Your background which is clear makes the subject stand out. Excellent composition. Nice work, well done! Thank you for sharing an interesting shot!

Love the contrast between the softness of the butterfly and the geometric pattern of the flower. It makes a great macro subject on its own. The yellow is a bonus against your blue-gray background. Nice composition and cropping.

This is a very good macro shot and a worthy winner of the contest. Congratulations ! I really like the kind of dark blue background in this shot, because it helps the white flower to stand out in the most excellent way.
Your focus is spot on and very sharp showing very fine details in the butterfly, and also the flower. I also think the exposure is perfect and I like the way the light is falling on the flower. To me the colors seem nice and natural.
The tight cropping works well and the placement of both butterfly and flower is perfect. This is a well taken and well presented macro.

Excellent macro. All the details intact!!
I would love to see your camera settings and whether you used a tripod or not...
The detail in the flower bud is great and not easy to photograph. Very good dof!!
I might have lighten the bg a little but that's a matter of taste. Paula

Thank you so very much for a great review and high score. I never use a tripod. I shot this out the car window on an old road beside a lake. The blue background is the sky reflecting in the water. ISO 400 750/sec f8.

Hi Willie,
Love Button Bush blossoms!
Having a Tiger Swallowtail sipping nectar from one is the icing on the cake. We really get to see the proboscis in this shot. Love the angle and think this is a super shot! Nice DOF too!
