Wonderful capture of the great blue with excellent stop action! The blues of the bird are vibrant and the b.g. makes the wonderful bird pop! The focus is sharp with perfect timing on your part! Most impressive shooting and a great contest contender!

The Heron's wing is a fraction close to the top of the picture but other than that this is a super shot.
Good sharp image that freezes the action perfectly.
I love the way his legs and feet are just visable above the bushes.
The lighting could be a little brighter on the bird but it is good that the water and the bacground are dark.

Looks like a frenzied sprint from the starting gate! Very good capture of action, frozen in time with sharp detail. Some foreground framing also for added depth and interest. Stands out pretty well, even with dark background. like the blue wing detail. Good catch!

Nice catch! Good initial impact, very good lighting I always want to see the eyes pop on a shot like this, love the blue color. The only problem I have is on the bottom left where the light green foliage is a little distracting - this could be removed in photoshop which would give this great image more impact.
