Hi,

At first I thought this was a nice atmospheric photo but it turns out to be a high quality pencil drawing. Excellent job.

I'd give 6 stars if I had any left

Regards

Stu

Stu, again, I say thank you. I am working on another woman. Trying to get the eyes to look alive, and working on the dark shadowing of the face. Must get at it as the day is wearing on. God Bless,

Linda this is absolutely amazing. Your art pieces are so real you would think they were a photo. The detail, lighting, depth, hues, everything to me is perfect. I had to go back and look at your other artwork. You truly have a gift. Through tragedy you endured and your heart reflects in everyone of your works. God Bless you for bringing us so much beauty.

    Thank you so much, Critters.
It means so much to me to have fellow artists appreciate what I do. That is why this site is so fantastic. I am glad that you enjoyed this piece. I am working on another moody woman, and I sould be done within the next week or so. God bless you,

    Dear Brian,
I thank you for your wonderful review. No, it isn't Jodie Foster, but several people have mentioned the resemblance. God Bless,

    Dear Mike,
Thank you for your fantastic review. The blender attached to your name, does it have any significant meaning? Blender makes me thing of tropical shorelines with umbrellas and cool drinks. How about you?

    Hi Linda.
mikesblender is actually the name of a website I run. Just a mix (hence blender) of random Japanese food, places, adventures, etc.
Check it out if you have time:

Really amazed with the use of black and white, with the various shading. Like the smoothness of her face, and the contrast between the body and the dark background.

Wish I had a six for you. This is an amazing portrait. Your rendering of the subject is wonderful. She looks so serene and confident. Facial features are well drawn. Shading is amazing. Your use of light and dark areas works well for this. Would be wonderfu in oils...Great presentation.

    Dear JGrace,
My father is an artist in oils. I grew up with the smell of paint thinner in the air. His name is Robert Owen, and he has a web/site. I chose pencil because it is cheap, no money involved. When I started to draw, I was broke. I still am, so I stay with the pencil. I get so much pleasure.
    God Bless You,

This is a great piece. You have done a wonderful job with it. Can't find anything wrong with it. I love that there is no color in it.

    Dear ByFaith,
All the creative work we do, we do "By Faith." In that , when we begin a work, it is by faith that we know we will finish it. Doubts, of course, plague us throughout the process. But initually, we can invision the outcome, and we continue. How appropriate that your pen name would be byfaith. Thank you for your wondeful review,

When I first began the business I'm in now, I was depressed and worked myself to the bone. I did not have 1 single minute for myself or my kids, so starting something new seemed impossible. But, I prayed for opportunity, and it came. I joined my company, byfaith, doubting that I would succeed, but praying that God make a way, and he did. I live byfaith. Sometimes with doubtful thoughts, but looking to the end result and keeping God first. He hasn't let me down.

Thank you for sharing that testimony with me. Every bit of positive input keeps us strong. Thank you so much. God bless you and your family. And, keep the art coming!

Like the pose and the way you handle the media, very good on the technical aspects of the pencil. Like the details do think however the image looks hazy, it lacks clarity... Looks smudged in several areas which to me is a detractor, the image looks pixulated, know what I mean?. Facial expression on her is great and the proportions on her features is spot on.
