I'm a sucker for old sailing ships. This is a really terrific rendition of one. I especially like the look of the waves in this painting. They're so very realistic with the color variations. Excellent work!

I'd love to give you more if I had it. As always your watercolors are just fantastic. Filled with all of the drama and mystery one would want. In this case I can almost feel the sea mist hitting me in the face as the clipper cuts the waves, oh! the cool spray is so refreshing. Great art!

Oh yeah, a clipper in full sail. Being of Irish stock there are three things that appeal to me. A field of potatoes in bloom, a woman in her ninth month and a ship under full sail.
Worthy of a fiver.

Well, coming from great Irish stock myself, I deeply appreciate your wonderful review, Trailblazer! With the last name of Ireland in my recent history, I'd say that is pretty Irish :)) Although I was born in the US and have never visited Ireland, your mention of a field of potatoes sure brought back some memories. Thank you again for the great review.

Beautiful work. You can feel the waves moving and the wind in the sails.
Lovely color mix and the clouds melt into the ocean.
The shading on the sails gives just the right amount of color to the overall beauty of the scene.
Just a really lovely composition.
Thank you for sharing.
Sue.

Really nice watercolor. Like the colors chosen. Ship is well drawn and painted. Good action shown with it splashing through the rough seas. Enjoyed viewing it.

Painting a ship on a stormy sea, is like a painting entitled "Fire & Ice." Every artist has to try one at least once :)) Thanks for taking the time to review this, DM. I appreciate it.

The watercolour is beautifully done. i think this is the first one I have seen of yours. I will have to look for the rest. the water is very well done, I can hear it splashing as the ship sails through it under full sale. There is so much movement in the painting. I like the light touches of brown you have added to just give the painting that extra depth. Very well done

Wow! Great watercolor work. Excellent dof, and nice, subtle colors. the wave action is good as is your framing. I'd only like a little more mood created by some darker areas.
