I don't know who your are because this is a contest, but FAR will not allow a 6 from me because I have given you two others in the past 30 days. This photograph deserves a 6!
I'll bet you're glad you waited on this beautiful heron. Your capture is dramatic. The fish in his beak, the splash around his feet, the wide spread wings, all make for a great story and good drama.
The composition is well balanced with the stump, bird, ripples in the water all adding interest. I love the color and your focus is crystal clear.
What a winner and good luck in the contest.
