Super photograph. Great exposure. Unbelievable focus. I can't believe that little ring of skin about the eye. I didn't know they had them.
I love Cardinals. (I'm biased. I've been a St Louis Cardinals fan for over 40 years, so they probably grew on me over the years). They are such pretty birds. And they make a pretty little chirp.

Thank you so very much! That little ring is their eye lid! They have two, an inner and outer.

You got such good clarity on the. We can see the definition of his hairs/feathers and beak so well.
Great color, of course, and the backround color works well too, although I would have preferred that that branches were blurred even more so it didn't look like they were coming out of his head..It's just that the backround pattern doesn't enhance.
nice placement in the photo, and like the angle you caught.

How much closer can you get? The feathers are very distinct except for the top of his head. The eye is stunning. I think the lighting could have been a bit darker, but I can't find myself wanting to mark it down.

good lighting here has brought out a very vibrant red and great details throughout your image
the focus is crisp
composition is good
i would have liked to have seen less glare on the eyeball as it takes away from the details that are there.
