Nice watercolors painting. Polly is out of everything, only interested on water. In fact the trees are unusual view and they are beautiful also because of that besides all around painted with so calm colors

you captured the twisted trees quite well they have a whispy feel to them and make a good background for the dog. I also like the leeding line of the fence. colors work well together

Beautiful watercolor Suzanne. Your washes are spot-on and that lavender in the lower left is pure eye-candy. Mysterious looking trees along the bank and placing the subject, Polly, in the centre of that reflecting pond is a compositional delight. Traditional Artists Unite! Bravo!

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. The trees had these amazing roots growing out at all angle and that's what made me want to paint them.

A very beautiful and well done watercolor. I think you did a nice job on the trees, I don't know how they really look but you made these very interesting. The paiting of the dog is lovely too and you have good details and managed to capture his reflection in the water. Shirley

Many thanks, Shirley, for your great comments. It was the funny shapes of the trees that made me want to do this pic. Glad you like it.

This is an excellent composition. The color differences are great to stand out. It ends me looking at the details again and again because it's very good.

Love the soft muted look to this and the trees are really cool looking. Love the daring little dog here as well as the soft border. Only detractor I can see is that I think it needs a bit of contrast, maybe a few (not many) dark lines in the trees would give it some more depth
