I am a very big fan of pointillism (and Femjoy too). Has always been one of my favorite mediums. Ive practiced this same pic many times but surprisingly never in that medium. Thank you for sharing, it is beautiful work. Look forward to seeing more.

Well Lucien, I went back and took time looking more at your piece. Regardless of having taken classes and studying many pieces of art, Id have to come to the conclusion as I always have. Pastel, water color and pointillism is not a medium where detail is the objective nor can it really be obtained. It is the mixture of color and mass, focal points, balance and light. I don't think someone of my small caliber could suggest changing a thing. I really and honestly enjoy your work and from my little knowledge thing you have hit all the points I could know to tell you. I could only hope to achieve the success that you have. If there were something I could say Id be so very willing to share with you, but I think if anything I could learn from you. So thank You.

Yes, pointillism is impressionistic in style, where colors, shapes and textures are all created using single dots of color laid down by the artist by hand. The nude on the Pier was from a photo that the photographer, Stefan Soell, allowed me to use as inspiration for the piece. I am flattered by the kin words you have used to describe my work, you support in very much appreciated. Have a great day. cheers!!

I know this photo by Stefan Soell. I was thinking of making a painting from this photo too... But I am not sure about the copyrights... Interesting style though...

THe low rating because it is not your original artwork. You used a photo of someone else.
-
Does Stefen Soell know that you used his photo?
-
so you are basing your review on that one question and not on the actual value of the work?
the answer is: yes, he gave me permission to use his photo's and if my artwork using his photos as insperation sell, he gets a commision.
thanks for you conecrn about my well being, Cheers!

it is my original art work, I drew it by hand every little dot.
I used his photo as a guide, as insperation, just like using a live model, the only difference she is Gods original creation.
thanks, Cheers!

Hi Lucien, you are right. I am sorry that I downgraded your work just because it was made from a photo made by someone else. I was wrong. The thing is, that I also draw and paint nudes, but I always do it from life or from my own photos. Sometimes I see really good photos by others that inspire me, but I cannot use it without permission. I could ask for permission, like you did. Maybe this is the right way to deal with it. Thank you, and my apologies again. Alex.

No worries, I have done that as well, drawn from life and from my photo's but every so often a image is presented that inspires and so I just ask. Hell all they can say is no.
take care and have a great day,
Cheers!

This is very effective and makes a thoroughly good image. You have captured the shape of the model so nicely without having to be vulgar. Lovely scene.

Very good. Did you count the dots? LOL You have done a lovely job with the formation of the backside. The only thing I really can see is that the legs are really long. But this is wonderful with just dots.

PennyE,
yes in this image and the angle her legs look long and she is a tall woman, the thing that is not as clear as I want in this image is where her feet start and her legs begin, but rest assure in real life, as you looks at the image they are there and differentiated. no I did not count the dots... but rest assurred there are a zillion of them. thanks for the look and the comments, I appreciate both.
take care and cheers!

Great use of color and curving lines.
I'm impressed at your ability to convey both depth and shadow using just dots. You've inspired me to try this technique myself!

My thought..Very nice image of this beautiful body. I belive it would have been a much stronger image without the real grainy effect also the color seems weak. But still a nice image. GS

Gunner,
this is the way it was drawn the technique is called pointillism and the dots are placed one by one by hand on the paper to create the drawing or image. (Look it up on the internet and you will see what I mean)
Thanks for the time and the comments, appreciated by me on both counts... take care
and cheers!

Yes I know that is a technique but it is one I'm not a fan of. Nice work though.

I like it Lucien. Nice color harmony. Excellent impact. Smoking hot female form. Looks like she's enjoying a beautiful day. I think the pointilism style here softens your perspective lending to the erotic feel of this, as does the fact that her whole body reaches from one side to the other. Very enjoyable to view.
Thanks.
