As with your other works, there is a great amount of detail in this one. The cat's fur and eyes look very realistic. I like the point of view here, giving the subject a sense of vulnerability.

Nice artwork! I like how you did the shading and detail in the black fur , thats not easy to do and make it look realistic.I am a cat person and you captured all the details that a cat has perfectly.Good choice for the category, executed very well. ARTIST56

Many thanks again for your lovely comments. The photo came out a bit on the dark side - I'm not very good with the camera!

I really like this and your certainly have a comand of your medium. I love your subject matter, the passion you display and the awesome job on illustrating this.

You certainly achieved an almost three D effect by your choice of colors.

This is one of my favorites.

Thank you for sharing and the very best of luck to you!

Thank you so much for your very encouraging remarks. I'm not very experienced with pastels but I do like using them.

You do capture the life in the animals you draw and paint Suzanne. I really like the angle you have done this. I suppose this is how we see them most of the time, them looking up at us and us down at them. Lovely work. K.

What a beautiful pastle image of Raki. i have a cat that just looks so much like her. Black with a white chest and white paws. Very well blended with great tones and colours. So cute! Loved your notes that went withour image as well.

Thank you for your lovely comments. It actually came out a bit on the dark side so the white doesn't really shine as it should. I'm not very good with the camera!

Excellent portrait of a black cat who's waiting for some treats from its master. The selections of the colors are very wise which illuminates some background.

Hi Suzanne,
This seems to be a great piece but it's blurry! I have a big pet peeve with bad reproduction of art because when you have such obvious talent as you have it's CRIMINAL not to show it in all its splendor!!
I am a cat lover and saver myself so I love the story behind this piece. I also love that position, looking down upon them when they look back up at you. You seem to have a nice command of the pastels, black is not easy to do and you have captured the glossiness of the coat without resorting to boring grays. The blue background is nice - it's something I feel I blow half the time with my own pastel works.

Amazing detail! I especially like the shading you did in the around the head making the fur lighter, it gives it a amazing 3 dimensional feeling. The face and eyes as well are excellent! Maybe the best cat picture I've seen from you so far!
