I love the effects on this oil painting. The colors are great. Blending is nice, not too dark or too light.

Very good image.

Very "Kiwi" seascape, nice perspective and wonderful filling that Kohy needs you to play with and you are not alone in the miles long beach.
Thank you for sharing.

I do of course admire your skills with paint and the obvious detail you have given this piece of work...but (I do think)perhaps it is your photography that lacks detail and colour (?) and centralising Kohi doesn't really do the overall composition justice...Sorry...Rob

Yes, you're right about my photography. I'm hopeless! Actually Kohi isn't in the centre as we were always taught not to centralise the subject in a painting.

Nice image Suzanne - I have very little background in this medium but I know what I like. This sure fits the bill. Something so basic as the freedom to run, play and explore is vital for all things and the majesty of the ocean behind beckons to the pup and to the viewer. Love how he also seems to be safely nestled between the 'arm's of the sand dunes at the same time. Almost makes me feel reassured that all is as it should be. Your description supports that tone. Very nice Sue

It's always so nice to hear stories like this. The dunes and their foliage provide lovely leading lines to the subject. Great textures in the foreground provide for extra interest. Thanks for sharing.

I think this painting is beautiful! I love the story behind it, How wonderful to see Kohi free! You have nice colors, great tones and a wonderful subject. The colors and the trail bring you right to Kohi! Great job! On the painting and the rescue!

I can't say I blame him. I love the beach too and this reminds me of the walks down to the beach at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. All your paintings give such a feeling of having been there before. Beautiful!

:) This has a really nice moody tone to it with the restless stir of the waves, the brewed feel of the sky, as well as an almost impressionistic feel with the light strokes of color against the blue tones of the sandy beach area and touch of texture. I like the feel of anticipation conveyed with Kohi's patient desire to have one join him on the beach. Nice oil rendering.

There is a special place in Heaven for people who rescue animals and free them from such torture as described in your notes. This wonderful painting of yours is so beautiful and certainly celebrates his love of open spaces and the generous nature of dogs...who forgive and just want to give us their love and loyalty.
