Thank you so much for your kind review. The unsharpness especially in the middle of the flower [slightly out of focus] was intentional in order to get the 'flame" effect. This effect will not accrue otherwise.

I really enjoyed your comments on this one. The light you have used has produced a very nice effect on your flower. It does look like flames in the middle of the flower. Great colors.

This has a quality about it that personifies just about every photo I have seen of yours, cleo, in that you show us images that seemingly resonate and relate to your life, thoughts, feelings or experiences, in a special way.
When one no longer needs to be defined and boxed in by rules and restrictions, or overly concerned with the often cumbersome critiques and reviews of others, one becomes a photographic artist.
One may be a photographer, as Webster defines it, "one who photographs," but a photographic artist, as Brooks Jensen defines it; is one who sees, who feels, and expresses, who reacts and interprets, who listens and thinks, and responds.
To think and respond and to light this with an ordinary 6v flashlight held in one hand and your camera in the other is extraordinary in itself.
For your vision to be such to see this, not as blurred or flawed, but as an image from the artist within, is reflective of what I mean by saying that your images always relate to your intrinsic thoughts, feelings or experiences.
The blossom center is 'changed into flames' as you indicate, and the softness of the flower and the three yellow glows appear as elements giving a visual reference to the "sweet spot" of your blossom center. The composition is stunning.
The only thing I would change is the somewhat triple dot of yellow light to the left. For some reason it is a distraction to my eyes and I would rather see it burned or cloned out or whatever one does to "out dam spots."
But . . . this is your own artistic statement, and I'm only reacting to it - which doesn't mean I'm necessarily seeing it as you intend it to be seen. So if the spot of light is needed, please overlook my nearsightedness.
Interesting about Weston's Pepper # 30, is not that he shot a great photograph of a pepper, but that he viewed it as photographic subject material. Such is the highlight here with your interpretative piece of subject matter that I admire.
Maybe just for fun but also for meaning, significance, and reason, as the flock of birds have flown South, you have veered North, momentarily, and have seen another vision.

Very beautiful shot. Love the light that comes through the flower. Red is very intense. Good background fading also. Stands out really well against the dark area. Very well done.

With exposure 1/6sec hand held? this is what amzed me :) I wonder your hand didn't shake as i can see the sharpness in this flower. I love the glow and the softness, wonderfull composition with perfect center of interest, Really pleasure to view this shot :) I would only suggest you to darken a bit that blue sky, It would be perfect piece to hang on the wall :) I am glad to see this work of yours.

Thank you so much. Especially thanks for your suggestion. I'll try that. I needed a time to develop the ability to handhold the camera like this but I had to do. [I still need many shots to get the good one] We live in a small village between jungle and beach. There are not many places to mount a tripod.

Nice photograph.. It does look like some flames of a fire.Good composition and I like the very creative way that you composed it, with a flashlight. I wish that it was in focus a little bit more. Good work. Jerry

Thank you very much for your generous review. The slight out of focus was intentional. Otherwise the "flame"effect doesn't accrue.

Love the effect, really does give the flower a flame quality, unfortunately with your camera hand held, the detail are soft, I might also havr cropped some fractions off the sides, but overall the composition is very nice, try this again with a tripod, I bet you'll knock our SOCKS OFF!

Thank you for you honest and generous review truth I don't agree here. As I wrote in my comments the softness is intentional I took the picture slightly out of focus otherwise the dancing of the 'flames' doesn't accrue.
The use of a tripod only brings a clear picture of the blossom without the mystery I tryed to show [what maybe doesn't worked out] In this case A tripod wouldn't be possible anyway. To get some blue of the night sky I have to stay on steps.
I'll post some focused pictures of the flower later to show the difference.
I don't try to be not responsive. I appreciate and value your help but in this case I like to stick to the picture as it is. I hope you don't mine.

Interesting concepts and composition. Lighting on the flower is also captivating. The colours are HOT! I find the photo a little too busy and the overall image is too soft for my taste, although I understand that this effect is deliberate. Pavel
