Interesting use of chiaroscuro in the background with the tree in the foregound along with th long grass contrasting city to rural life. Yet the flight of the bird conveys a feeling of connection between the two.

Their "activity" lives on in the ozone layer..This is a very profound painting showing the divide between the Natural and the Industrial world. One beautiful and with good ecology and the other selfish and ill-planned. All this beautifully drawn with excellent color. Gena

when i see this... you are organized. everything has its own place... as well as the buildings are organized and have their layering effect. Nothing touches each other. And you have a little bird... or even a plane in the distance.

Color - varied. the reds and yellows in the background almost looke like a fire.
Character - I like the character shown here
Tree iin foreground and silhouetted building provide good depth of field.
I had a hard time making out a lake in front of the buildings so the reflection seemed odd (that's probably just the odd way that I'm seeing it.

Very interesting composition with good focal point. Sky area with lots of light is well done. Buildings are very realistic and foreground is well painted. Lots of depth. Well done.

Interesting statement here Shawn. This is dark and gloomy, expecially compared to your normal elegant pieces. This is very well done, excellent composition and depth. The orange sky tells of what the factories left behind, the flowers struggling and the water oil slicked. LA personified. Shirley
