This is good , realistic, not doctored . I love the natural colors in this .
You`ve caught the wave well just as it is breaking .
I love the green sea , much more natural .
Good luck , you deserve it

Thank you so much for reviewing my work and your wishes. You are right that isn't doctored and the green is the color of the Caribbean on a dark and stormy day.

Beautiful catch of the wave! Were you standing in the water? I like the different colors of the waves from green to brown where the sand is pulled up from the bottom. Nice definition and lighting. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much. I wasn't actually standing in the water but kneeling on the reef we I got wet anyway. These shots aren't without danger. To get it at this deep angle you have to assume when the wave will turn over and click before. It's account on the delay on the camera how much before. Than you need to jump up and back, raising the camera over head to keep her dry.
-
Well, you did a great job! I would have gotten very wet!
-
I did. It's part of the job. isn't it?

This is a lovely picture of the incoming tide. The lighting is great, showing wonderful colors in both the sky and the water. The scene is well composed and attracts and holds attention.

Rather a nice capture of the very colorful waves. The colors here are very nice with the action coming ashore. The sky looks nice and there isn't much you could do with the sky anyhow. Nice photo.

Thanks for not leaving big clues in your notes..I don't think it is nice when people do that. This is a very lovely entry to the contest and a good view of flowing water and waves. I like the sea green coloring and the action of the surf. Very well presented..good luck to you! gena

Thank you so much. Thanks for noting that I try to avoid clues. It's not so easy as it seams, the location is often a give away.
-
Iknow what you mean..and some people here seem to be dropping Big clues..and on purpose..takes the fun out of a blind contest, and is a bit unfair.
-
I fair so too. I like the blind contests much better. Seems to me it's more fair. It's easier to vote too. Even if one don't want to do so, we always will look with kinder eyes at the work of our friends than of strangers. It's harder to be neutral if you know who is who.

Impact is good & the holding factor is excellent.~
A super subject to capture
Your focus is good , Lighting technically sound for conditions.

Good luck in this contest although I don't think you will need it.
This is spot on, perfectly wonderful show of the high energy and beauty of the water.

Thank you so much Annie, Through I hope you are right, I don't think I win. There are others very good entries were the water is more flowing. I'm afraid mine crashes to much.

I like this but feel the almost 50 / 50 horizon line cuts the picture in two. Cropping or reframing it to give a more 1/3 or 2/3 look would help make it better on the viewing front, I think. You are welcome to disagree. Robin

Thank you, I agree with the crop but there is something strange to it. I showed this and the frame with almost no sky to people who don't know about art and the rules of it. The current version were more to their liking what really baffled me.

LOL...I fully understand. Often pieces I do not like for the same reasons and others, ie, balance is off, colour not quite right etc sell before I corec them, as someone will wander into my studio, fall in love with a piece and want it AS IS. One work like this was my recently posted PINK and BLUE...very similar to this. It sold while still a wet canvas. LOL
-
Ha, I just saw Pink and Blue in the contest and tought it was yours. The ocean in your picture isn't that vicious but I can see the similarity of the water overflowing the reef.
